EWT SCADA Ready Compact Substation Unit

9 November 2016: As part of its principal role as a TNB trusted and approved supplier for Compact Substation Unit (CSU), EWT Research and Development teams have developed a prototype unit tailored to meet the new demands and requirements from TNB. This endeavour falls in line with TNB’s challenge to stay relevant and up to date with the modern consumer needs by shifting towards online monitoring, remote supervision and switch control.

EWT with its progressive outlook on potential technology application has recently announced the development of the Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition (SCADA) Ready Compact Substation Unit (CSU).

The entire process from the delivery and installation of the SCADA CSU unit to its successful energizing was completed on the same day on 9 November 2017. TNB Distribution SCADA teams were on hand to finalize the necessary configurations and adjustments and on 11 November 2016 it was connected to the existing live TNB SCADA system.

The SCADA CSU unit is currently undergoing field trials and with its promising performance results, is expected to be commercialized by the second quarter of 2017.
